There are some very important things to keep in mind over the next two weeks as you select an article you'll focus on for your "student research aloud" portion of the project:
- You are not working in groups per se, but individuals exploring the same topic do need to be coordinated. In practical terms that means you need to make sure that you've selected different articles within the same group.
- There is one exception. Two people can choose to collaborate on the creation of the research aloud (but they can't collaborate on the writtten paper).
- The article you choose must: (1) be an original research article (no lit reviews, etc.), (2) be something outside of the foundational readings given for this course, and (3) must not be the same article that someone in your group is also doing.
To make sure you're not overlapping, it's probably wise to email other people in your group once you know what article you want to focus on. You'll have until midnight of March 15th to submit your focus article. Many more details about this, and the whole project, will be covered in our next class on March 13th.
